Team BOSC achieved a significant milestone at Ideathon 2025, organized by The New Horizon Club, by clinching the "Best Functional Prototype" award. The team, led by Vice President Siddanta Sodari alongside active members Shisir Sapkota and Alok Thapa, was recognized not just for a theoretical concept, but for demonstrating a simulation of fully operational engineering solution to a real-world crisis. This award specifically validated the technical feasibility and execution of their work, distinguishing it as the most practical and implementation-ready project in the competition. The victory highlights BOSC’s commitment to "tech for good," showcasing the members' ability to apply complex computer science concepts to solve urgent societal problems.

The winning project, "Raksha-Net," is designed as a "Digital Ambulance" to bridge the critical communication gap during the first 72 hours of a natural disaster. Addressing the "Signal Lost" scenario where cellular infrastructure collapses, the system utilizes a novel offline mesh network powered by Data Muling technology. Unlike standard messaging apps, Raksha-Net employs a hybrid protocol using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for energy-efficient peer discovery and Wi-Fi Direct for high-speed data transfer. It enables encrypted messages to be physically carried by volunteers or drones across disconnected zones, effectively hopping from device to device until they reach an internet connection. By integrating Ward-Level cryptographic verification to prevent misinformation, Raksha-Net stands out as a sophisticated, resilient lifeline for communities in distress.
