The Research Management Cell of Birendra Multiple Campus, supported by UGC Nepal, successfully completed a 3-day workshop on Natural Products in Drug Discovery from May 16 to 18, 2024.
The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Harihar Paudyal (RMC Coordinator) with Prof. Daya Ram Paudyal (Campus Chief) as the chief guest. Dr. Ek Narayan Paudyal delivered the welcome address. Highlights of the workshop were presented by Dr. Ganga Raj Pokhrel, the program coordinator of M.Sc. Chemistry, and best wishes were extended by Surya Narayan Poudel, TUTA unit president.
The workshop featured facilitation by Prof. Dr. Kedar Nath Ghimire and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surya Kanta Kalauni from the Central Department of Chemistry. More than 35 participants from various campuses attended the event. Dr. Krishna Pd. Sapkota served as the Master of Ceremonies during the opening, while Dr. Eak Narayan Paudyal took on the role for the closing session.
The closing program included a farewell for Assoc. Professor Kapil Raj Gyawali, a senior faculty member retiring from the Department of Chemistry. Assoc. Prof. Torandip Dhital, the Head of the Department of Chemistry, along with faculty members Mr. Kuldev Yadav and Mr. Manoj Bista, spoke about Prof. Gyawali's dedication and contributions. Prof. Daya Ram Paudyal, the Campus Chief, highlighted Prof. Gyawali's 37 years of service and his numerous roles at Birendra Multiple Campus, a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University.
