BICTE: IT Education in Low Fee
Birendra Multiple Campus, a constituent campus of TU, has run the BICTE program since 2077. It is a semester-based (8 semesters) Bachelor' Program of TU under the Faculty of Education. This program is a composition of computer application, mathematics, human learning, and communication skills. The course mainly focuses preparing school teachers who can assist children's cognitive development by combining math, computer, and pedagogy. Here are qualified, experienced, and innovative teachers, and a well-equipped lab to implement this course. A maximum of 36 students are placed in one section and engaged in field-based and project-based learning. In addition, students are provided opportunities of developing skills of group work and leadership through self-organized workshops, conferences, extracurricular activities, welcome and farewell programs, etc.
In addition to school teachers of computer and math subjects, BICTE graduates are eligible to apply for the posts of IT officer, Section Officer, and Education Officer in Public Service Commission. They can join master's programs such as MICTE, MCA, MIT, MCIS, or M.Ed. (Curriculum & Evaluation, Educational Planning, and Management) in TU, other universities in Nepal, and abroad. BICTE program opens a wide variety of opportunities in the country and abroad in the fields of Networking, Database, Artificial Intelligence, Software/Website Development, Teaching, IT Officer, etc. Despite low fees, genuine students are also provided 'poor and talented' scholarships.
